Donuts anyone?!

Every Tuesday morning, I have a meeting for work at 7:30. That's too early, in my opinion, but apparently that wasn't a choice that I had a say in. Anyways, the last person to the meeting has to bring donuts for the next week's tuesday meeting. So one of the guys brings in two boxes of donuts, and tells us we have to eat them all because he can't take them home. With 10+ guys working here, that is no problem. But then, about 2 hours later, some lady from next door comes over with 2 more dozen donuts, just saying that she wanted us to come over to her Chiropractic center. DONUT OVERLOAD!! But I have to say, the ones that she brought over sure were interesting!!!! Like this one..

Gummy worms?! On a donut?!!! There was also some with M&Ms on them, and other various candies. And just in case you were wondering, they were GROSS!! Just a little bit of advice, never get donuts from Alberton's. You will be highly disappointed.

On another note, Elder Kamae sent out an email on Monday!! He's having such an awesome time in the MTC! The first day he was called to be the District Leader, and loves that calling! Everyone in the MTC keeps coming up to him saying "Are you the happiest missionary in the world, or what?!!" He just can't stop smiling all the time, and is so excited to be a missionary. He didn't say much in that email, because he's been pretty busy I guess. I'll update when I hear more!

This is what you get with two sisters living together..

Since Kay and I share most of our clothes, we have more than a ton. We do laundry, and neither of us wants to fold it, so it usually sits on the floor for a good week or so. In this case, we had done four or five loads of laundry, then Kaylee left for Vegas, and I had a busy weekend. HOLY MOLY WAS IT A MESS!! So last night, I sat in that room for 2 hours to clean it up!!

Here is what it looked like before the 2 hours I spent in there.. And believe it or not, that's not even HALF of our clothes (:

And the after! What a difference! I am magic!
So, just a little note for all you laundry doers, fold your laundry when it first comes out of the dryer.. It makes things a lot easier AND cleaner!! And don't leave your ironing board (or massage bed) up, because you will notice that you will start to use it as clothes hanger, or shelf.

My Missionary!

Today was so good! I met Jonathan, Shelley, Marty and Paige at the church in Draper to head up to the temple, and let me tell you.. That temple, is freaking GORGEOUS!! My first time being through every room in the temple, and I loved it!! I can't wait to get married in the temple!! And the spirit was so incredibly strong, it was unbelieveable. Then we all went out to lunch at a pizza place, and then of course got a few pictures!!
( P.S. I didn't even cry when I was saying goodbye!! My eyes didn't even start watering when i gave him his handshake goodbye! )

Oh, I love him (: I can't wait to see what is to come for the future!

What a day, my friends.. What a day..

I've never been much of a video gamer, but last night I think I found my calling in life:

Little Big Planet.

I honestly think I could have sat on the couch FOR HOURS being entertained by this game. I was laughing SOOO hard that I started crying. I don't know what game system it's for, but I HIGHLY recommend it (: So, GO GET IT NOW!! It's appropriate for all ages, I do believe!

Also, I won Rock, Paper, Scissors 4 times in a row. First, Brandon went down, then Kay, then Brandt, and for some reason, Brandon felt like losing again. Soon after that, "the Sciss" was invented. No more high fives, no more "pounds".. No no.. It's scissor time!

And, I was introduced to a new word!! Snuggleable. I love learning new things! The dictionary says it's not a real word, but I say it should be! PLUS, I watched 24 for the first time, and I must say, it is a pretty good show! Not better than Prison Break, or House.. or even the Office. But it's still good.

Today, I'll be going to the Draper Temple Open House and then lunch with Jonathan and his family!! This is really really the last time I get to see Jon. He goes to the MTC tomorrow!!! I'll be sure to take pictures and give an update tomorrow!!

Just a little thought..

I got home from Vegas last night around 7:45 at night, and I was just sitting in my room, getting pictures uploaded and what not, and my roommate comes to my room telling me someone was at the door for me. So I go to the door to see who was out there, and it was my new visiting teacher! She just came over to meet me and she gave me a big sugar cookie with a quote on it. It wasn't until about an hour later that I actually read the quote, and it is amazing how much I needed that right now, especially with last night being the last time that I'll see Jonathan before he's a missionary. Here's the quote:

Put Your Trust in God
It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is.
It all works out. Don't worry.
I say that to myself every morning.
It will all work out.
Put your trust in God,
and move forward with faith
and confidence in the future.
The Lord will not forsake us.
He will not forsake us.
If we put our trust in Him,
if we will pray to Him,
if we will live worthy of His blessings,
He will hear our prayers.
-Gordon B. Hinckley

Now, it may not seem like much to you, but there have been a lot of things going through my mind lately, and it's been pretty hard to take some of the things in that are happening with my life. This just made me realize how lucky I am to have the gospel in my life, and I am so thankful that I was taught everything about it when I was young so I know I have somewhere to turn when I need it the most, and when I have no where else to turn.

I think that's an important thing to remember, all the time, and not just when you hit rock bottom. Remember that Heavenly Father wants to be your best friend all the time. He will listen like no one else will. Life may not go the way we planned it to, but He always has a better plan for us. Love Him, that's all He wants (:

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas ;)

Okay, so maybe not, since it's being told right now. BUT LAS VEGAS WAS A FREAKING BLAST!!! I am soo glad that I was able to go and spend one last weekend with Jonathan and his family before he leaves on his mission. I can honestly say it was one of the best weekends of my life. Yes, the hotel that we stayed in, Circus Circus, smelt TERRIBLE, but the rooms were pretty good. Plus, the beds were the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in! TOO BAD it was super windy and raining most of the time! So much for good, warm weather! The weekend was full of Ultimate Frisbee, laughing my butt off, checking out the sites, and the best buffet I've ever had! Jon also gave me the children's story book that he wrote for me, which was so cute! Check out the Facebook if you want to read it (:

With a little help from Mamma House, Jonathan was able to bind the book together to make a cute front and back cover! He loves reading it to me, and I LOVE IT TOO!! It's one of the cutest stories I've ever read, especially since there's so many little details that are really describing me! Man, he's creative!

This is Jonathan playing ultimate! Which is, BY FAR, my favorite sport to watch! He won 4 out of 7 games, which was pretty impressive, due to the EXTREMELY windy weather that he played in.

And then of course there's M&M World! Such a cute store!

And just in case you are in Vegas and need somewhere to eat, go to Circus Circus before 11AM and get the breakfast buffet. It was oh so yummy!

Bathroom Talk

So, interesting fact that I realized today: Not only do people love me, BATHROOMS DO TOO! "That is just strange.." you may be saying to yourself, but let me just explain. For lunch today, like almost every other day, I brought a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and a slice of some delicious chocolate cake that I made earlier this week at the request of my lovely Sisty. Now, when I eat cake, for some strange reason, my hands always choose to get frosting on them. So after inhaling my delectable dessert, I made a trip to the bathroom to wash my hands. What's the first thing you normally do after you open the door to a bathroom? Turn the light on, would be the correct answer. So as I reached my hand out, feeling for the light switch, the light automatically turned on! I DIDN'T EVEN FIND THE LIGHT SWITCH YET!!

So, here's my theory: I get close to the bathroom, and the light turns on, like it's the bathroom saying, "Welcome, Shaylin!!" Then when I leave, the light is still on. Why is that? Because it's hoping I come back! It never gets enough of me! After some time though, Mr. Bathroom turns off his light in the sad, depressed state of mind that he's in.. until yet another visitor comes, then the mood changes dramatically! I'm so pleased with myself to be part of brightening someone else's day, even if it is Mr. Bathroom!

On another note, I'm going to Las Vegas tonight!! I'm driving down with Paige and Madison Mecum (Jonathan's aunt and cousin) and we'll get there around 8 or so at night and we'll be meeting up with Jonathan, Shelley and Marty (Jon's Mom and step-dad). WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THIS TRIP TO VEGAS?!?! Jonathan, having the amazing skills he possesses, got invited to play in and Ultimate Frisbee Tournament this weekend! Cool, huh? There will definitely be a follow-up blog to this one describing how it was, with wonderful pictures!!
