"R" word

Go to http://r-word.org/ and pledge to refrain from using the "r" word in everyday language.. It's not hard, and it's showing respect. Why wouldn't you?

Do it; I did.

Festival of Colors!!

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

Oh my goodness, was it fun or what!! I've never been before, but I have seen pictures, and heard stories and it was nothing less than amazing!! Who doesn't want to throw colored cornstarch or whatever it was, at random people?! Loved it!! Here are some pictures (:

I have since washed my hair 3 times, and I still have pink hair. WONDERFUL! But it was more than worth it, and I'll definitely be there next year, crowd surfing and all!!

Here's a website to understand a little more about it!

Picnic, pool table, and meatballs? What a good weekend (:

It has been pretty nice the past few days in good ol' Utah! So Kay and I planned a picnic in the park for Saturday, when neither of us really had anything going on. So I make some delicious potato salad
and when Kay got home, she made some tuna fish sandwiches. THEN OFF WE WERE TO THE PARK! The weatherman said it was 73 degrees out, but that wasn't taking in the wind factor. Jeeze, it seemed a lot colder than 73! So our picnic wasn't very long, but it sure was fun!

Also, I have recently come to realize that we have a ping pong table in our apartment! (along with a pool table and an air hockey table) Of course Kaylee and I are in love with that game room. So we go down there later that night and use our amazing skills to play one of thee best games of ping pong we've ever played. We got a call from Jeremy, saying he was going to come over and play us, along with his friend Daniel. So Kaylee and I get all pumped up, ready to kick some boys' butts!! They ended up taking forever, so what better to pass our time, then to sit, stand, even dance on the pool table!!

They finally showed up, but by that time, we had worn ourselves out, so unfortunately, the canadians won in our ping pong tournament. With hunger creeping up on us, we went back to the apartment to make some delicious chicken, followed by a long drive up to the hot springs! Man, that drive is well worth it. It may have been freezing outside, but once you get into the water, you are no longer thinking about how cold it is, rather how your body is BURNING!! But it feels good(: And I'm glad my new friends could come up there with us!!

Now, this past Tuesday, I had an open house (With AC Green.. the tall black man in a previous post) and at the open house, were some of the most delicious meatballs I've ever tasted. And I usually HATE meatballs. The lady that made them was pretty intent on me trying one, and I was sure glad she did! Kaylee and I went to the store, got the recipe, and made meatballs today!! They were just as good as the ones I had before (: New things are yummy!!

Before we cooked them...

and the delicious turnout!!

I must say, it was a pretty darn good weekend!!

HOLY HUGE!!

I work for Synergy Consultants, and they are civil engineers. Now, with the economy as bad as it is, you wouldn't think we'd be doing so hot right now. BUT, we just merged with another company (G&M) and many more will probably join as well. Well, one of the co-owners of G&M is AC Green, who is a former Lakers basketball player. None of us had met him until Monday, when my work put together a huge bowling tournament! Let me tell you, this man IS HUGE!! He is 6'9" and wears size 18 shoes!!! My goodness. Then on Tuesday we had an open house for all of our clients to get to meet him, which went really well. We were handing out basketballs and he would sign them, and it was just great. He is really really sweet, and has done so much in the community!! (Look him up... he's a pretty cool guy!) He started an abstinance program for kids, to get them to realize that they should wait until they're married to get intimate, and he was the best example! He just got married, in 2003 i think. HE'S 45 NOW!! That guy has my respect for sure. Anyways, here's a picture just to see exactly how big he is!!

Green Eggs and Ham (:

St. Patrick's Day is coming up, and I was given the great idea to make a green eggs and ham book for Jonathan!! Except, instead of liking Green Eggs and Ham, he doesn't like The Book of Mormon. I was given a better idea after I sent it, which would be to have it be 2 missionaries giving out the book of mormon.. but mine still works! Here are a couple of the pictures of the book!! Hope he likes it!

Choices

What Will Today Bring?
This is the beginning of a new day. God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in it's place something that I have traded for it. I want it to be a gain not a loss; good not evil; success not failure in order that I shall not regret the price I paid for it, because my future is just a whole string of now's.

Is that a good quote, or what? I got this in Relief Society on Sunday, and it was such a good lesson! All the things we come by in our lives regularly (scripture study, baptism, sacrament.. etc) build the foundation of our lives. From there, we make choices that build us as a person, but we have to rely on the Holy Ghost for all of those decisions. Without the spirit, we are not able to stand up straight as a whole. Our teacher gave a visual lesson to where she wrote all of the ordinances and choices on cups, with the foundation on the bottom, then a sheet of paper that said Holy Ghost, and on top of the Holy Ghost were the choices we made. After we built a pyramid, she showed us that without the Holy Ghost (pulling the sheet of paper out from under the cups) it wouldn't stay up.

We also got a new bishopric, and one of them (old or new.. I don't remember) said another really good quote: "When Satan reminds you of your past, remind him of his future."

Man, I'm glad I went to church on Sunday!

High School Musical

I am very glad that Kaylee decided (randomly) one day at work that she wanted to watch HSM. Last night, we rented all 3 of the movies, planning to have a marathon to watch them all. Although I started falling asleep in the middle of the second one, I LOVED THEM!! I re-watched the third one today because I was only conscious for about 20 minutes of it. First of all, if you haven't seen them, rent them right now and go watch them. The second is better than the first, and the third, I think, is better than the first two. Secondly, I don't understand how Zac Efron is so unbelievably gorgeous. Honestly? Holy jeeze, I'm about to watch the third one again, just because I can't get enough of him. Oh man.. Musicals are great!! Only according to some.. I tried to get my best friend Coy to come over and watch all three with Kay and I and his exact words were "I think I'd rather stare at a wall than watch all 3 of those movies.." and when I later asked why he didn't like musicals at all, he said "I'm just cynical and they are too happy.. things that are over the top happy bug me for some reason." Hmm. Party pooper, huh? I'll be sure to post about the day when I get him to watch a musical with me (:

Off I go, to watch Mr. Gorgeous in action again <3
